Sony Vaio UX Premium Micro PC and Sony Vaio Digital Living System TP1 showed at CES 2007

We couldn’t leave Las Vegas without visiting Sony’s exciting booth and we have to say that after a few hours playing with all the new gadgets Sony had to offer, we didn’t want to leave!!! We were like kids in a toy store… We had a chance to play Gran Turismo HD for PlayStation 3 and as we were expecting, it blew our minds. The graphics are fantastic and the scenery looks very realistic indeed. Game play is great and it will keep you playing for hours. Shame that we couldn’t stay and play all day… but we had loads to see and not much time…

The next thing we had a look at was the Sony Vaio UX Premium Micro PC, which is an ultra portable micro PC running Windows Vista Business operating system. The Vaio UX Premium comes with a 1.3GHz Intel Core Solo U1500 processor, a 4.5-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB of RAM and more importantly, a 32GB SSD solid state disk, which not only provides faster boot up times, but also a longer battery life compared with traditional hard drives. Next in line was the Sony Vaio Digital Living System TP1. Also connected to the same TV set was the new Sony WA1R Wireless Audio Device. A very handy machine that streams audio wiressly from your computer or from the LIVE 365 website. Searching for new gadgets through the huge Sony booth we stumbled across the new Sony Reader, which allows users to download books from a PC or the Internet and read them like any normal book. The Sony Reader is very slim and has a new battery system that only uses battery when you turn a page. Sony claims that you can turn 7,500 pages before the battery runs out. WOW! But don’t get too excited if you are in Europe as the Sony Reader will not be released to European markets. What a shame! Sony was not only showing products that will be released this year, oh no. Another prototype displayed at Sony’s booth was their Laser Light Display TV, which is based on similar technology as LCD TVs, but have a different light source, laser. These laser TVs provide pure and vibrant colours and the picture quality is superb. The release date for Sony’s Laser TV has not been announced yet. And that’s all from Sony’s booth at CES 2007. We are going to keep looking for the latest products here in Las Vegas and we will keep updating our site with all the info, so keep watching this space… |
