Sony SXRD and OLED TV Technology unveiled at CES 2007

After battling through the hoards of tech-geeks and gadgetiers galore we finally clapped eyes on Sony’s astounding 100,000 square foot booth exhibiting their next-generation TV prototypes.  Broadening opportunities for the future of television are Sony’s SXRD full HD TV and the OLED TV, which stands for organic LED.

Sony’s SXRD is a new display technology claiming to meet and exceed the demands of a HD image at a full 1080-line resolution.  By containing 3 SXRD panels, the TV contains enough pixels to display the latest 1080-line picture without interlacing.

Amazing contrast and colour are two key features the SXRD has to be proud of thanks to the laser light engine providing deeper and more natural light.  With paramount reds, blues and greens, this SXRD TV is undoubtedly a breakthrough for Sony.

Over the way from the SXRD TV and attracting a similarly hefty crowd was the OLED technology TV.  Someone at Sony has been full of ‘thinspiration’ when designing this 1:1 million contrast ratio TV.  The teeny razor-thin profile gives the 27-inch OLED an ultramodern impression, which is rapidly reinforced by the vibrant lifelike colours and full HD performance.

If you are excited as we are about these innovative new prototypes you should watch out for updates that we will bring your way as Sony announces pricing and availability.
