Sony Reader PRS-500 Launched
| With the Sony Portable Reader System you’ll be able to take one device on holiday and have access to as many books as you want. The Sony Reader PRS-500 couples an innovative electronic paper display with simple on-screen controls and stylish design in a nice 6.9 x 4.9 x 5.8 inches body. And the battery life will keep going for at least around 7,500 page turns which means you could read War and Peace without running out of juice. The Sony Reader’s high-resolution electronic paper display has a realistic print look that rivals traditional paper (without the ink stains) and results in crisp text and graphics that are easy to see and readable even in bright sunlight. But it’s not just books, the Sony Reader will also be able to store documents in Adobe PDF format, RTF, text and JPEG photos and through Sony’s CONNECT Book store, you’ll be able to download (via your PC) a whole variety of books as well as selected RSS feeds from blogs and news sites free-of-charge. The Sony Reader PRS-500 will retail for about $350 in mid November and comes complete with USB cable, a wall charger, the CONNECT Reader software and a protective soft cover. |
