Sony PS3 sales up, but lose money on each sale

This is not a major issue for Sony as most games console manufacturers lose money on the hardware and the majority revenue comes from the software instead. Nintendo is the only one at present that makes money on the sales of the Nintendo Wii for its hardware.

Sony say that they are not overly concerned about the loss at this moment and see a better future for the PS3 in 2011 when they expect to make a profit on each sale.
