Sony Introduces the VAIO VGX- TP1 – Ultimate Home Entertainment System
The big boys at Sony have created an ingenious multi-purpose Home Entertainment System which ‘brings together the worlds of TV and computing seamlessly’ a Sony spokesman says. | The VAIO TP1 is a small round unit which has a diameter of only 27mm and is white in colour with a touch to open DVD drive along with a touch to open sliding panel at the bottom which hides a multi card reader, 2 USB flash drive slots which enable the user to connect a digital camera and music player. | | The main aim of the game is to use the VAIO TP1 as an alternative to a PC as there is wireless networking on board, it has an optional wireless keyboard and also has a LAN connection for connecting to a home system with wires. There is a 500GB hard disk drive and an integrated hybrid TV tuner which creates the possibility of recording DVD’s with a huge capacity for storage while the TP1 will also convert Web images to your TV in high definition which Sony say ‘is perfect for social networking to online shopping or music downloads’. Connection options of HDMI, VGA and DVI outputs mean that connection to a HD-ready TV or a computer display is really easy making it versatile with the ability to be situated or relocated in any room of the house, be it the study, lounge or play room. The clever guys at Sony have also created a technology that makes the VAIO VGX-TP1 near enough silent with a sound damping case. The Sony VAIO-VGX-TP1 will be available in September 2007 at a very competitive price.
