The idea from Sony really is that this is a projector that youll be able to plug into your PlayStation 3 to your Blu-ray disc player or just your Sky+ box and watch brilliant images.
And that's why Sony has equipped the VPL-VW50 with 1080 full HD resolution, two HDMI inputs, a contrast ratio of up to 15,000:1 and an almost silent 22dB operation.
Sony have also added a combination of triple Sony SXRD panels to give better colour, pixelation and quick response time and have also added an Advanced Iris 2 for fine-tuning images. As well as that they've also developed All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens for the VPL-VW50 providing a 1.8x zoom and meaning the Sony projector can be positioned anywhere from 3m to 5.5m from the screen.
