Sony HDR-XR500 and HDR-XR520 Camcorder series and more

A 15x lens offers advanced optical stabilisation coverage, Smile Shutter and Face Detection technologies along with GPS for geo-tagging your personal videos and photos. 6 megapixels ensure that you receive great image quality in both video and stills and Sony state that there is an 8dB increase in its sensitivity to create 50 percent noise reduction adding to the overall image quality. The two higher end models mentioned above, HDR-XR500 & HDR-XR520 which both incorporate the new sensor will also have the capability to capture images in 12 megapixels. The difference between the two models is the HDD capacity with the 520 having 240GB and the 500 having 120GB.

 

Other new models in the series are the Sony HDR-XR200, HDR-XR100 and HDR-CX100 which is Sony's new high definition flash camcorder. All of the above models will record at 1920x1080 AVCHD format.

The new Sony Camcorders will be available within the next few months.
