Sony Bravia VPL-VW40 1080p Full HD Home Theatre Projector

A Sony Bravia engine powers the VPL-VW40 projector and uses Sony SXRD technology to recreate the original cinematic viewing experience as closely as possible from your own home. The Bravia engine ensures that image noise is kept to a minimum and detail is retained with colours being vibrant and clear.

The Sony VPL-VW40 Full HD Home Theatre Projector

The Sony SXRD (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) technology displays images at 1080p Full HD for absolute clarity and precision, mainly due to the super fine panel micro architecture. High contrast ratios of up to 15,000:1 can be achieved with the Sony VPL-VW40 which is all down to the Sony Advanced Iris 2. This system works by adjusting to the light available in each scene and altering the aperture to achieve the best results. In dark scenes, details are brought to the forefront and bright scenes retain their detail. There is also manual option to allow the user to adjust these to a personal preference.

24p True Cinema is also present on the Sony VPL-VW40 projector as on Blu-ray disc Players, Playstation 3, and HD DVD players. 24p True Cinema works well with the 1080p resolution in providing images as close as possible to how the movie director intended them to be.

The Sony VPL-VW40 1080p Full HD Home Theatre Projector will be available in Q1 of 2008 and will be priced at around £2000.
