"Late 2010" is the aproximated date of the next Sonic installment, as stated by Sega themselves over on the Official Sega Blog. If, like me, you were born in the early 80's, that little blue hedgehog will be close to your hearts and it's a shame to have to wait even longer to carry one the story.
But there is a silver lining to this hedgehog shaped cloud, according to Sega themselves Sonic 4 will also now be heading to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Originally it was only going to be released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
At the moment you can get Sonic 1 and 2 on the iPhone and iPod Touch, which points to a possible Sonic 3 release in the App Store very soon, which would complete the set ahead of the Sonic 4 launch. This is by no means official, we're just crossing our fingers and sending out some hints to Apple and Sega, please answer our retro gamer prayers!
