Samsung have now announced the PL200 budget digital camera. After last months heavy hitting Samsung NX5 got introduced, Samsung got back to work and have now unveiled a budget option for those with a little less cash to splash out, and who don't want a huge digital SLR draped around their necks.

Meet the PL200, a small but mighty point and shoot camera, with a massive 14.2 megapixel sensor for capturing stunning high resolution images. Not only is it packing a punch in the still image category, but it's also not too shabby in the video department either. Capable of HD 720p video recording at 30 frames per second, you'll be able to make some really high quality movies with this smart little digital camera, which will save you packing a camcorder in you suitcase next holiday!


The PL200 has 7x optical zoom capabilities, pushing the equivalent focal length to 31mm-217mm. In order to maintain sharp images at such high focal lengths the camera boasts optical and digital image stabilisation.
