Samsung 3DTV Are The Future
Samsung, the worlds largest TV manufacturer announced their new 3DTV Line Up For 2010 last week. The new line up includes 3D TVs with screen sizes ranging from 19 inches up to 65 inches. The new TVs will play back 3D content while still providing the option to play back 2D content in Hi-Def 1080p. The TVs will be available worldwide by the start of the summer.

The new models come with various spec's: The basic 3D model, the UN40C7000 (40-inch), will be available from May and will retail at just over £2000. The most expensive model, the 55-inch UN55C9000, will hit the shops up in April and will be priced at around £5000. Samsung have used the latest technology to create ultra thin high specification televisions unlike anything that is currently available, the C7000 Series measures about an inch thick, while the LED C9000 series is just 0.3 inches thick.
Samsung are betting big on 3DTV being the future of in-home entertainment. Dan Schinasi, senior marketing manager at Samsung Electronics said "People love to watch 3D movies in theaters, and would like to bring that experience to TVs". Samsung are also working with online movie providers on new faster technology to stream movies to 3D TVs, while also researching auto-stereoscopic technology to improve the 3D viewing experience
Mr Schinasi said that "3D movies may start streaming as early as the fourth quarter". Users will be able to launch an application on the TV through which a movie and a provider can be selected. Online movie rental services like Netflix can already stream movies directly to a selection of Samsung TVs.
