| Patient gamers queued overnight to secure their purchase of the newly released Sony Playstation 3, and aren’t they glad they did. A central London Virgin Megastores outlet kindly laid on a spread, vol-au-vents and all, before handing out a complimentary 46-inch flatscreen TV worth £2,000 to everyone who had queued through the night. |

Bosses of Playstation fans around the country should be expecting that timid voice at the end of the phone, claiming they’ve been struck down with a bad case of the flu, when really what they want is a long weekend with their new Playstation 3.
Eager gamer Ritatsu Thomas admitted after a sleepless night of waiting for the store to open: “I might have to play on it when I get home because I am so excited I won’t be able to sleep.” It wasn’t all excited for the gamers though. Police had warned those queuing for the £425 games console that they could be targeted by thieves on their way home, and to be extra vigilant. |
