Playstation 3 Finally Goes on Sale in the UK
After months of delays Sony's Playstation 3 finally goes on sale in UK stores a week earlier than expected. Such a drawn out wait has only caused increased amounts of excitement among gamers, who have been losing sleep - literally.
| Patient gamers queued overnight to secure their purchase of the newly released Sony Playstation 3, and aren’t they glad they did. A central London Virgin Megastores outlet kindly laid on a spread, vol-au-vents and all, before handing out a complimentary 46-inch flatscreen TV worth £2,000 to everyone who had queued through the night. | '£425 of pure gaming fun' | | Bosses of Playstation fans around the country should be expecting that timid voice at the end of the phone, claiming they’ve been struck down with a bad case of the flu, when really what they want is a long weekend with their new Playstation 3. Eager gamer Ritatsu Thomas admitted after a sleepless night of waiting for the store to open: “I might have to play on it when I get home because I am so excited I won’t be able to sleep.” It wasn’t all excited for the gamers though. Police had warned those queuing for the £425 games console that they could be targeted by thieves on their way home, and to be extra vigilant. |

What Unbeatable.co.uk Users Said About This News Story Sil 23rd March I picked mine up on wednesday from a local indy shop, as did many other people on thursday when I popped in for a digital optical cable Motorstorm is THE game to have, even if you are not a racing fan as such. Marvel Ultimate Alliance works well but only of you have a 40"" or larger screen. Having said this. the first PSP was a meat grinder. I took it back and came home with a good one. Fantastic piece of machinery
replyCaptain Beardy 24th March We picked up our PS3 today, and the console is fantastic. However, surprisingly, many game shop managers have informed us that they did not get the rush they expected and that despite the hype, sales of the console have been slow in comparison to the WII and the Xbox 360. Eplay, HMV and Woolworths has additional stock available in our area (and they're just the ones we know about). I wonder what it is like in other parts of the UK. Sales in the Midlands, it seems, have not been fantastic. reply |
