Pioneer launch new plasma TV range

There are two models available in the Full HD range in sizes 50 (PDP-5080HD)and 60-inch (PDP-LX608D) and the XGA range offers 42 (PDP-428XD) and 50-inch (PDP-508XD) screen sizes and all are furnished with 80% deeper black levels than any of their previous models and Pioneer state that the increased black levels lead to ‘richer colours and sharper details’. The new models also have support for 24p meaning they can display films at the exact rate they were filmed at, creating realistic sounds and stunning images. DVB-T receivers are also on-board so Freeview can be received without the need for extra hardware.

Pioneer have ensured that connectivity is simple with 3 HDMI sockets on all models, with two being at the rear and one on the side, so hooking up your devices, such as the Playstation 3 or even their new Blu-ray disc player (BDP-LX70), will be effortless. There are also multiple SCART and composite inputs for your other devices.

The larger sized screens have an outstanding contrast ratio of 20,000:1 and 1080p for the ultimate in high definition home viewing and the smaller 720p screens have a contrast ratio of 16,000:1 with some also having an ‘Optimum Mode’ which sets the screen to display images best suited to the viewing environment and the source material.
