Philips Make Skype Calls Wireless
Philips has jumped on the bandwagon by making cheaper calls via the internet that little bit easier with their latest launch, the Skype certified VOIP841 cordless phone. | Up until now, unless users have a Skype mobile phone, Skype-to-Skype or Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) calls have limited users to plugging their phone in to their PC, but Philips has taken away the wires, giving users the freedom to walk around the house whilst connected. |
'Docking station provides 12 hours charge' | | To get online, the Philips’ VOIP841 phone simply connects directly to a broadband Ethernet modem, or users can choose to make and receive calls via a landline. The wireless phone will store up to 500 Skype contacts, which are displayed on the 64k colour screen. Philips has kept in line with their simple but stylish design and has provided many innovative and advanced functions, including 15 assignable polyphonic ringtones, making caller identification easier. |
'Colourful and detailed display' | As Skype-to-Skype calls via the internet are free Philips has taken into consideration that a long-battery life is required. After a full charge, the Philips VOIP841 will provide up to 12 hours talk time. Available from March, the Philips VOIP841 wireless phone will be retailing at £130.00. | | | By Lisa Malyon | | Posted 16th Feb 9:41:39am By Lisa Malyon |
