PS3 to play 3D Blu-ray - It's official

Great news for Sony PS3 owners, the PS3 should be getting a 3D update towards the middle of 2010 according to Reuters.

The update will allow 3D games and movies to be displayed using any 1080p 3DTV, the console will send a regular signal over HDMI, which the TV syncs up with your 3D glasses. A 200Hz TV, for instance, alternates 1080p frames, with 100Hz for each eye. A mojor drawback to this exciting news is that we are yet to get our hands on any worthwhile 3DTV's, hopefully this will all change at this year CES (Consumer Electronics Show) next month in Las Vegas.
