New Sony HDR-FX7E HDV camcorder released

And it’s with this criteria in mind that they’ve introduced the new Sony HDV handycam, a lighter, brighter, better digital camcorder that will transform your home movies.

With the Sony HDR-FX7E you’ll be able to film little Johnny falling off his bike in 1080i high definition making sure you get the full benefit when you watch it on your HD TV.

Being Sony they’ve added some extras into their HDV camcorder including a system they’ve developed called 3ClearVid CMOS Sensor system, Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 20x optical zoom lens, a 3.5 inch LCD and long battery life.

This sporty little HDR-FX7E camcorder is 40 per cent smaller and 25 per cent lighter than their previous model the HDR-FX1E, which is nice, and only weighs about three pounds.

But it hasn’t scrimped on anything. The HDR-FX7E is the first Sony Handycam to use its 3ClearVid CMOS Sensor technology which helps provide a higher resolution giving brighter, more accurate colours.  And the Sony HDR-FX7E can capture a six-second ‘burst’ of images at 200 fields/second, or four times higher than standard 50 fields/sec recording.

The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens has a 20x optical zoom range with a built-in Super SteadyShot optical image stabiliser which helps to reduce shaky images, even when shooting handheld at high zoom settings.

It sounds good but is it complicated?  No.  Its HDMI interface offers simple, one cable connection. And best of all, Sony say you can get eight hours of continuous recording on the HDR-FX7E.

The HDR-FX7E HDV camcorder will be available from November 2006 and will cost around £2500.
