Internet Connected TVs in 2011 - LG Smart and Sony Bravia

If you haven't jumped on the connected TV bandwagon yet, don't worry. Experts say, the best is still yet to come. 2011 should bring all new excitement to the world of TV technology where Internet TV becomes an even more integrated part of the living room experience. Expect HD TV with cutting edge computing all wrapped in one, plus the usage of all your favorite extras like web chat, video chat, social networking, email, and games. Internet widgets will allow you to check for things like the weather and keep you updated on news.

One of our favourite's, LG's Smart TV is due out later in 2011, has a full web browser and is capable of downloading your apps in a one click access to services like Amazon and potentially the BBC iPlayer. The new system will come built-in to some of LG's TVs or as another option as a plug-in box  as an upgrade. We love the free download option where you can get an app to your iPhone or Android handset to use it as a remote.

From Sony comes a line of Bravia TVs. You will be able to share your episode listings, apps, and web searches, if you choose, via Facebook or Twitter.  There is also a Dual View, which allows you to watch TV and surf the web simultaneously while you get recommendations from the smart personalisation tech who pays close attention to your viewing choices.

Internet TV looks to offer digital DVRs with limitless storage to save hundreds of programmes to watch when we get around to it. The TVs main purpose was to originally entertain, but now it has opened so many new doors, including working and even social networking.
