ITV Launch HD on Freesat Service

This weekend saw the biggest commercial UK TV channel, ITV, launch their HD service on Freesat.

This new channel will be accessible when pressing the red button as it doesn't yet have its own dedicated channel. The first programme shown on this channel was the first game of Euro 2008 being Portugal and Turkey.

More sporting events will be shown on this channel such as the FA Cup and England Internationals, but also other interest programmes including films and dramas.

With the LCD & Plasma TV market growing rapidly, the introduction of the Freesat service and new HD channels are growing in popularity too and offer viewers high quality High Definition images making watching films and major sporting events for example a more exciting experience.
