HTC Vision aka T-Mobile G2 Photos Leaked Ahead of Launch!
Check it out ladies and gentlemen, it’s the new HTC Vision, in the flesh! Well sort of, this photo was leaked to Engadget on the weekend, clarifying it’s existence once and for all. Known as the T-Mobile G2 over in the US, it’ll be next generation up from the original G1 handset, the first Android device to hit the market. It should give T-Mobile some extra clout as it fends off increasing smartphone competition like the recent iPhone 4 Price Drop from Orange.
It bears resemblance to the original handset that started it all, thanks to the hidden QWERTY keyboard that lurks behind the screen but with one heck of a step up in performance and features of course. It’s the first full QWERTY hardware keyboard we’ve seen from HTC (the devices manufacturers) in a long while, their preference of late has been software base keyboards like the one on the super popular HTC Desire. Naturally it does add a little to the overall thickness of the device, but we think it’s worth it for any serious typer out there, not to mention T-Mobile G1 customers looking for an upgrade!
Not much else is known about the handset other than it’ll be available to existing T-Mobile customers in the coming weeks and will be the 4G handset on T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ network, ready to compete with the mighty HTC EVO 4G and new Samsung EPIC 4G. It’ll likely sport a 1GHz snapdragon processor underneath that big 3.7 inch touchscreen.
We’ll let you know more as soon as we find out, in the meantime hardware keyboard users can rejoice and start putting a few extra coins in the piggy bank!
