Google Drops Major Money on First Super Bowl Ad

Man of the moment Drew Brees.
Never advertised on television before, Google decided to air it's first commercial during one of the busiest and most expensive ad times, the Super Bowl. The ad which was titled "Parisian Love" may have been aimed more at the female heartstrings. The ad begins with a man doing a search on Google asking "How to impress a French women?". He continues with a series of questions that eventually brings us full circle with to "How to assemble a crib?".
The ad has been on YouTube for over three months and had more then 1.6 million hits. CEO Eric Schmidt posted in a blog Sunday after the game, "We didn't set out to do a Super Bowl ad, or even a TV ad for search. Our goal was simply to create a series of short online videos about our products and our users, and how they interact. But we liked this video so much, and it's had such a positive reaction on YouTube, that we decided to share it with a wider audience."
Google didn't mention how much they spent on the 1 minute long ad, but CBS disclosed that a 30-second commercial exceeded $3 million.
