First iPad Subscription Announced Ahead of April Launch

The iPad is just days away from it's U.S. release and reports are starting to surface regarding the subscription costs for newspapers and magazines on Apple's new handheld computer. First out of the gate is the New York based Wall Street Journal newspaper service. Their monthly subscription fee will be $17.99 per month, that's a round about £12, which seems an awful lot considering it doesn't need to be printed or delivered..

Esquire Magazine's first iPad issue will be $2 cheaper than it's printed counterpart, while Men's Health Magazine will cost the same as a physical issue at $4.99. Whether or not these prices will remain is yet to be seen, as publishers fight for sales. With each publisher able to price it's offerings without a set figure stated by Apple, an inevitable price war is sure to emerge.
