Dell goes green at CES 2007

Michael Dell, chairman of Dell Inc. delivered his keynote address at CES 2007 this week and the crowd welcomed the launch of Dell’s new initiative, “Plant a Tree for Me”. The initiative basically offers to plant trees for customers to offset the carbon emissions resulting from the production of electricity required to power their systems. |

Dell’s customers will have the choice to have $2 of a laptop purchase or $6 of a desktop purchase, go towards funds to plant trees around the world. "We're the first global technology company to offset emissions with the purchase of their computers," Dell said.
