DVD Players face a slow death
DVD player sales are at the lowest in seven years, according to new sales figures. The low results are due to an increase in downloading of movies via iTunes etc and the use digital set top boxes.
It has been predicted that within the next ten years DVD's and DVD Players will filter out a be a thing of the past as VHS did some time ago. Since recordable Freeview boxes and Sky+ cam to light, the need to have a DVD collection became unnecessary with users being able to store hundreds of films on the hard drive.
There are also many on-demand sites which enable the viewing and saving of films and TV programmes which can then be saved creating a virtual collection.
As technology evolves there are many gadgets that will have its day and filter out such as Sat Nav, the computer Mouse, Wiimote and more.
