China Search Engine Uses Google Logo
Google has already had issues with China threatening to pull the search engine from the country for good due to Chinese cyber attacks. Google is currently in talks with Chinese authorities on how to handle the uncensored search results and the usage of obtaining personal data of human rights activists.
Now a new issue arises between China and Google. A China local search engine called Goojje.com is said to be using the Google logo without permission. An official from the site and going by the alias, Xiao Xuan, denies any use of the Google logo and states, "We don’t intend to stop using our logo,” he said. Goojje, which means Google’s sister in Chinese, intends to contest the U.S. company’s action, he explained. Goojje.com began as a non-profit organization following the threat of Google to leave China.
