The BlackBerry BlackPad tablet is already being criticised for its, well, unimaginative name, which has been suggested as the domain blackpad.com is snapped up by RIM.
It has also been suggested that the BlackPad will be priced the same as the Apple iPad, and will have features on board such as wi-fi connectivity and tethering between BlackBerry phone via bluetooth to use the phones 3G connection. It is also said to be smaller and thinner than the iPad, and will have full BlackBerry OS compatibility and functionality.
The BlackPad has been scheduled to launch in November and other manufacturers offer their versions with Samsung launching the Samsung Galaxy tablet in September and the LG Optimus launching before Christmas.
BlackBerry are also launching the newest iPhone rival, the Blackberry 9800 this week.
