Apple Cinema Display - 27 inch Model Announced

At last the wait is over and we finally have a new Apple Cinema Display to lust after. It's been such a long time since the last refresh and that was only for the 24 inch model, the 30 inch Apple Cinema Display dates back to 2007! Now in the world of Apple that may as well be last century.

Meet the new 27 inch Apple Cinema Display. Sound familiar? Well that's because it's the same as the one you'll get in the current Apple iMac range, just with all the insides stripped out and a few extra bits added. The display has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio perfect widescreen viewing. Behind the screen is an iSight Camera for video calling (or for making you tube videos of yourself, god help us) as well as a 3 port USB hub and a mag safe connector/ USB/Mini Display port combo, which you can use to power your Macbook or Macbook Pro laptop.

Underneath the display you'll also find stereo speakers, as you do in the Apple iMac which receive there signal from the clever Mini display port when plugged into your laptop. The only thing left to talk about now is the price, but unfortunately Apple are yet to announce UK pricing (an annoyingly regular occurrence). US pricing for the 27 inch model is $999, so expect it to cost somewhere in the region of £750 - £800.

The new Cinema Display will be available to buy in September, so you won't have long to wait, in order to find out how much your going to be adding to your credit card bill!
