An Overview of the Panasonic DMR-BS850 Freesat Blu-ray Player Recorder
At last, the technology has come our way and although we've had recordable Blu-ray players for some time, HD content has been lacking, until now. The DMR-BS850 from Panasonic has 500GB of internal memory along with twin tuners. This enables the user to record from one channel and watch another or to record two channels while watching a previous recording. Series recording also offers great flexibility to TV lovers alike.
Along with an attractive, sleek design the DMR-BS850 also offers the capability to record from channels such as BBC HD and ITV HD although some programmes are tagged as being 'Copy Once' or 'Copy Never' meaning that they can either be recorded and copied to a Blu-ray disc once or not at all. However, as this is new technology these restrictions should be altered in time.

The DMR-BS850 is a Profile 2.0 Blu-ray Player and has Panasonic P4HD and PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus technology and supports numerous media formats tobe copied to a hard disk via USB or SD card. Connectivity is good with HDMI, Component, S-Video and Composite Audio outputs, SCART, two digital audio and stereo outputs. There is also an Ethernet connection to download BD-Live movies and browse videos on Youtube and Photos on Google Picasa through Viera Cast.
It may be pretty expensive for now, but as with all new technology, the price should decrease in time and with the brilliant features on board and performance to be achieved, we think its worth it.
There is also the Panasonic DMR-BS750 a Blu-ray with 250GB of internal memory and the DMR-XS350, a DVD player which is Freesat HD recordable. All are out now.
