Advent to launch slender Altro Notebook.

Advent designs an ultra-thin laptop.

Advent has opted to ring out an ultra-thin notebook for the budget end of the market. The Altro may not be as stylish or thin as the MacBook Air, coming in at 21mm and weighting in at 1.6Kg, however the notebook is packed with features that are respectable considering the price of only £600 which is nearly half the price of the MacBook Air, so a bit of a bargain if you are not too precious about a high-end brand. Other features include a 13.3-inch display, 3GB of RAM, 120GB hard drive, built-in webcam, multi-touch trackpad; connectivity includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 1 USB port, 1 HDMI port and a single Muti Function Connector. An interesting feature for added security is a fingerprint reader. The Altro is in-store next week and will come loaded Windows Vista, however with the release of Windows 7 around the corner users will be eligible to a free Windows 7 upgrade.
