3D TV Goes On Sale Today - Latest Prices Pictures and Video

The day has finally arrived, the first 3D TV sets have hit the UK high street today, the first retailer to get their hands on them is John Lewis who have said: "The new technology - likened to the arrival of colour screens 40 years ago and the recent high definition - will allow consumers to enjoy the full 3D experience in their own homes".
John Lewis are currently selling the 40 inch Samsung UE40C7000 LED 1080p 3D TV for £1,799 from a selection of branches across the UK.
Don't forget that on top of this you will need a pair of battery powered 'Active Shutter' 3D glasses. John Lewis are selling 2 pairs of the Samsung SSG-P2100T/XC 3D Active Glasses for £150, which you are going to need in order to enjoy the 3D experience. Oh and they've thrown in a copy of 'Monsters & Aliens' on 3D Blu-ray for good measure.
If you buy the Samsung BD-C6900 3D Ready Blu-ray Disc Player for £349 you'll get the 3D glasses for free so that's probably the best route to take if you're thinking of buying the whole package.
John Kempner, a representative of John Lewis said: "We've had flatscreen TVs and high definition, and now 3D is the next big thing. I think it's what everybody is going to be talking about, and with the success of 3D in the cinema, this is bringing that level of enjoyment and type of experience into people's homes."
3D TV will get even better when Sky launch their dedicated 3D channel later this year, which until now has only been accesible through pubs and bars, showing selected 3D sporting events, soon you'll be able to enjoy Sky's 3D channel in the luxury of your own living room with the new Samsung 3D TV range.
John Lewis representative Mr Kempner went on to say: "It is worth remembering that even though 3D TV content is limited at the moment, this new breed of TV provides fantastic picture quality for regular 2D viewing, so a 3D TV is a great investment purchase."
Although only available from John Lewis at the moment, the Samsung 3D TV sets will be available in selected Curry's and Comet stores early next week.
