Kodak Explained It’s the brand that can help you take a good photo without saying “Cheese”. Kodak had a strong reputation for good cameras in the past and have continued their success in the world of digital cameras and DSLRs. What five ranges are available? All Kodak cameras are part of the Easyshare range of digital camera and are broken down into the following: Point and Shoot C series High Zoom Z series Pocket V series Performance S series Easy Share One series Is this the same worldwide? You can rely upon Kodak’s consistency anywhere in the world. Whether it’s Japan, America or Malaysia, the models and names remain the same. What is the difference? Each series is slightly different but the names go some of the way to explaining. So the C series, Point and Shoot is what it says on the tin, a camera with the simplicity of aiming at the subject and clicking. The Z series, High Zoom cameras are bulkier and come with high zoom functions and auto focuses. The Pocket V series come in an ultra-compact, stylish design. Performance S series come with high end, wide-angle zooms. And the latest to the Kodak range, the Easy Share One, is a Wi-Fi enabled camera that allows you to share pictures with others. The C series of Kodak in general tell you the megapixel size of their camera in the model number, with the rest, the larger the number, the greater the pixel call. The higher the model number - the higher the mega pixels, for example: Model Point and Shoot C875 Point and Shoot C643 Point and Shoot C530 | Megapixels 8 6 5 |
So, what is the difference between the ranges?
Kodak Point and Shoot range C series First up is the C series. These are the Kodak Point and Shoot range. Design wise these are slightly chunkier with expanding zooms. The series ranges from 8 megapixel down to 3 megapixel and all have display screens at the back. The object of this range is simplicity of use, making it ideal for even the youngest of children to handle the minimum functions with ease. High Zoom Z series These look like DSLR but are still point and shoot cameras. The Z series has more powerful professional zooms for getting closer and also come with auto setting functions and manual options for enhanced creativity. They also have a broad range of scene and colour settings. Pocket V series These are the IXUS of the Kodak range. The Easyshare V series are ultra-compact, pocket sized, stylishly designed cameras with large high resolution displays and a high spec. All the Easyshare V digital cameras have video recording functions and the V610 also has Bluetooth facilities. Performance S series These are the big boys in the Kodak range and mean business. While they’re still point and shoot cameras they come with all the facilities you’d find in a DSLR. All the S series has powerful optical zoom lenses, advanced video features, five shooting modes and responsive performance and manual functions. However, unlike DSLRs you can’t change lenses over. Easy Share One series This is the latest in the Easyshare range and come with the revolutionary Wi-Fi facility.
