Information
I BOUGHT ONE IN TENERIFFE AND WONDER IF I WAS RIPPED OF
I BOUGHT A SHARPIXELS SH-5051 IN BENIDORM I THINK I WAS ALSO RIPPED OFF
does anybody know who makes sharpixelsxxx
We have just bought one in Tenerife the sales on reflection was a scam, we bought a cheap camcorder then was passed to their expert for an explanation into how the machine worked and it was discovered this was not what we needed at all. After a demonstration we fell for the Sharpixels model but in fairness it has taken some really good pictures.
What did you pay for yours? I think ours ended up about three hundred plus, I'll know when we get our Barclaycard bill arrives.

I bought a sharpixels sh-61260 $2600.00 australian in Singapore friday 21/12/07 all i can find out so far is it was distributed by doulatram son I cant find any information on the web i thought it was made by sharp that what the salesman told me
We also bought a sharpixels Digital Camera model SH-32 in Benidorm and have searched for hours on the internet looking for details, prices, etc. We have come to the conclusion that this is an import from China that is completely unknown at the moment. It does take good pictures, however, and takes videos. We are returning to the shop tomorrow as they sold us a 6 hour battery but it is larger than the battery that is in the camera. Like everyone else, we are wondering if this is a ripoff as we went in to buy a 99 Euro Sony and came out having spent over 300 Euros.
we bought a sharpixels camera/camcorder in tenerife for 300 euros....I think I was ripped off as I bought it in a hurry xmas eve......it does take good pictures but I also cannot find any information on web.....if it goes wrong I've had it.......lesson learnt
We also bought a Sharpixels camcorder in Singapore during December 2007 at a shop called "The digital specialists" at the Lucky Plaza. I do not know the exact price we paid for it, as the salesman put together a "package" for us. We were grossly ripped off. We also bought a Cosina 28-210mm lens for $570 which was told to be the "newest on the market". This was also a ripoff, as it is sold for $100 over the internet. Other electronic equipment also bought at the same shop, all ripoffs. BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!! It cost us dearly and just about ruined our holiday.
I bought one in Tenerife last Tuesday, 12mp, 8x zoom, 3" screen, touchscreen controls, to be honest it looked top notch and the pictures seemed spot on too. Paid £140 and as I left the store I went online on my phone and found this site!! Began to worry a little bit but it seems of decent quality. Very annoyed with myself that I didn't pick up quick enough that there was no SHARP logo on it, just "SHARPIXELS".
Anyway, I packed it into my luggage to fly home last night & when I got home & emtpied my bag, it was missing!! Some Iberian or BA employee had half inched it!
We bought one in Lanzarote last year..thinking Sharp! Couldn't find anything on the internet till now. Paid for it on credit card and found that our card details were copied and someone in Africa was having fun withdrawing cash at our expense. Not impressed.... to say the least, also think the pictures are rubbish :-) Obviously Spain/Canaries have a few of them around....beware!
I have also just returned from Lanzarote and purchased a SHARPIXELS 10M CCD MPEG4 VGA MOVIE camcorder. I purchased this from a company called SOLAR ELECTRONICS in the old town in PUERTO DEL CARMEN. I paid EURO 220 for this and after reading these reviews feel I have been ripped off. The guy who sold me this also tried to sell me a LIXUS camera telling me that it was the same as IXUS.I tried to get my money back and even got the police involved as they had misold me a camera with false information. They said I could go to the police station and fight it out , but it would take up to 2 years. I cannot find a website anywhere and the only guarantee I have is from the shop. They told me if I have any problems with it send it back to them by post and they would sort it out and return it to me.I was also told by a pub owner in lanzarote that a lot of the electronic shops in the area misell cameras when they are virtually worthless.I checked with another shop and they laughed after seeing the camcorder and said it is only worth 40 EUROs. The sales pitch was very good and I was truly duped. Another thing they also do is to sell you a proper branded camera or camcorder after demonstrating this to you and then put a cheap copy in the box when they pass it to you. BE WARNED ! I WILL ONLY BUY ELECTRONIC GOODS IN THE UK IN FUTURE

Hi, I bought a sharpixels mpeg 4 sh-1100 in Tenerife last year. Paid 130 euro for it, was told also that it was made by Sharp. What a rip-off!!!!!!
It does take good pic and videos, except at night time when you cant see what you're filming lol.
My problem is that I THREW OUT the charger for it by mistake while spring-cleaning. Can anyone tell me where I might get a charger for it.
Ive tried the nokia phone charger, which fits the socket, but does not charge the battery.
HELP PLEASE
JOAN
I BOUGHT A SHARPIXEL SH-7500 IN SINGAPORE, THE SALES CONSULTANT NAMED SHAH, AN INDIAN NATIONAL TOLD ME IT WAS SHARP. HE STARTED FROM THE PRICE $1600 BUT HE SOLD IT TO ME $483 PLUS TAX. BUT WHEN I CHECK THE WEB SITE, IT'S SIMPLY NOTHING! THIS IS A CHINESE MADE VIDEO CAM. A GENERIC VIDEO CAM, YOU CAN NOT FIND ANY SUPPORT FROM ANYWHERE. SO IF YOU VISIT SINGAPORE, DON'T BUY TO "RITZ CAMERAS AND ELECTRONIC PTE LTD" LOCATED IN CHINA TOWN. THEY ARE AN EXPERT STEALING WHILE SMILING! ESPECIALLY THIS FUCKING INDIAN GUY NAMED SHAH!
Further to my comments of the 28th December; we have been back to the shop in Benidorm where we bought the sharpixels camera and have changed batteries quite a few times but still they did not work. Eventually we decided it must be the charger and we went back to the shop again with the camera, batteries and charger. They immediately changed the charger and even offered to change the camera if we were still not satisfied. We now have a camera that takes good pictures and even videos but they are not as sharp as the Canon that I use. However cannot fault the shop in Benidorm as they have been very helpful and we now wave to the staff and have a laugh with them whenever we pass. This does not mean, however, that I would ever buy another Sharpixels camera as we had to visit the shop quite a few times before we had a workable camera.
In Los Gigantes I went into a shop to enquire about a Sony video camera. The shop told me it was not only a Boots branch but also a Sony Centre. It was signed as such. This information made me feel more trusting towards them. The Sony camera was demonstrated & I agreed to buy it for 205Euros for which I handed over my card & signed the paper credit card slip. I was then told that they were out of stock for that Sony item & one was coming from a sister shop 15mins away. Whilst I was waiting he then started to tell me the Sony’s many faults. This went on for about 1/2 hours.
I asked for the credit card slip back & was told the camera was on it’s way. I then said that I would take the demo Sony, only to be told that it was incomplete so I could not. I later found out that this is a ploy there is no genuine stock apart from the one demo for each genuine camera.
He had a TV demo setup that showed the ‘Sharp Sharpixels’ camera to have a better picture than the Sony. I don’t know how they did that because it does not. I bought a boxed video Sharpixels digital video camera for 275 Euros using my credit card through the electronic card reader. I was then handed back my paper credit card slip. I accepted it having been told it was a Sharp manufactured camera. I was told it had a two year world wide Warranty. It has no return address or company information & is therefore a useless product without warranty. It is a counterfeit product. When I returned to the hotel I realized that what they gave me was not a proper receipt. It took 4 further visits to get the shop receipt.
This Sharpixels company does not exist & does not have an address. It has no connection with the ‘Sharp’ company. After I had read the ‘warranty’, which does not have a return address on it. I took the camera back to the shop they refused a refund or to supply the Sony camera I originally went in for. They said I could complain to the local consumer office which would take 6 months, or to the police who don’t want to know. It was obvious that I was only one of many complainants.
This is a popular con trick. See attached extracts from websites from others who have been deceived. I am shocked that any credit card would deal with people like this. I always thought that the merchant had to have some reputable standing. Also of concern is that the ownership of these shops (this is one of several similar ones in Tenerife) is by a shady Nigerian company. Though all of them are staffed by Indians.
It had stopped working by the time I got home several days later.
