seeking recommendation for a camera with +8MP & +6 optical zoom

I am looking for a camera which has +8mp resolution and +6 optical zoom and that is relatively straight forward to use. I am looking to pay around £250 for the camera and would greatly appreciate your recommendation on which model(s) to look at. Many thanks
