Optimum Distance Required Bewtween You and Your TV

Get the Right Sized TV for Your Room

Before you go and buy a TV the size of the Pacific Ocean for a room resembling a fish tank you should stop and think.  You really should have the right distance between you and your TV depending on its size.  This means if you have a large TV you may not have enough space in the room to allow for the optimum distance required or alternatively you may be too far away.  By following the chart you can make sure you are not getting those square eyes your Mum always threatened you with.

TV Size                                         Optimum Distance Required

Under 2.5m                                                17-26in
2.5-3m                                                        28-32in
3-4m                                                           36-42in
Over 4m                                                      42-50in

Whilst we are on the subject of positioning your equipment for optimum performance you should also consider other components such as DVD players, projectors, or home cinema systems, etc.  These items need to be on the flattest surface possible which will give you the best picture and sound possible.  It is also extremely important to avoid stacking these items as the heat that is generated will affect performance too.
